No Tricks Only Treats Handpainted Sign

We're talking handpainted signs today.  How to make this handpainted no tricks, only treats sign for your Halloween door decor.

This technique is simple and straight forward, no vinyl cutting machine necessary.  I actually prefer the variations that come from handpainting the letters.

Framed Wall Quilt

For those of you who love to sew I shared this easy framed wall quilt over at Pretty Handy Girl yesterday.  It's straight sewing, four of the same pieces make up the X design and adds a huge punch of color for very little effort.

Click on over to Brittany's blog here for a complete tutorial, I promise it's easier than it looks.

DIY Hanging Lantern

Yes this post is titled DIY hanging lanterns and my lanterns aren't even hanging in the picture.  That's okay, you get the idea that you definitely could hang them.  The glass jar is glued in place and that's a battery operated candle so no fear of fire.

Let's make these hanging lanterns because I'm sharing the free plans today.

Sideboard Makeover

Popping in with a quick makeover of this giant sideboard I built back in February.  As you can see I originally left the wood natural only sealing it with clear polyurethane but I always knew it needed some color.

I mixed equal parts of two Americana Decor chalky finish colors together to get the most beautiful midnight blue that really helps the copper hardware stand out:
